Part 1: Level 33-35: Dol Dinen

Our first Khazad Guard Offensive was against the Fortress of Dol Dinen in the North Downs. Ideally the quests could be done in tandem with the other north downs fellowship quests, but we were trying to limit our gameplay to a 1 1/2  to 2 hour session, with perhaps a 1/2 hour overun in extremis. It is also cool to run the whole chain through in one go, so it really feels like taking out the place!

It was great fun this one, storming through an tearing up the place, we wrote a little review post you can read here, with a few accompanying pics.

Here are the quests we attempted (and completed) and below the notes I circulated on the preparitory quests and chains (homework) we all did to get us on the same page.

Fellowship Quests to Complete Together:

•  ‘Captains of the Black Tide‘ (33: 3 Orc bosses)
•  ‘Orcs of the Blood Mountain‘ (33: Combatants, Man-Slayers, Battle Masters)
•  ‘Master of the Black Tide‘ (37: Defeat Zaukil)

•  ‘Siegecraft‘ (34: destroy siege engines)

Quest Notes and chains to complete:

Firstly fully complete the chain ‘The Black Tide of Angmar’ from Daervun.

• 2) ‘Orders from the Front‘ (32: Uruk Orders) (complete this)
• 3) leading to ‘Deciphering the Black Speech‘ (32: Mincham) (complete this)

This chain will open the below quest chains ‘Forced into service‘ and ‘Shattering the Alliance‘ please complete the first bits in Red of both of these, and we will do the Green bits together. If you struggle soloing the Red bits, let me know I can come give you a hand.

Shattering the Alliance:

• 1) ‘Shattering the Alliance‘ (32: Ongburz badges) (complete this)
• 2) ‘Captains of the Black Tide‘ (33: 3 Orc bosses) (we will do as a group)

Hopefully we will all pick up the ‘Iron collar’ warg drop quest during the solo or group stuff which we need to turn in at Amon Raith for a future Fornost quest too.
